Job summary

Betel Home Foundation in Gimli and Selkirk, Manitoba, is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses under the supervision of the Director of Resident Care to provide comprehensive nursing care to residents.

The LPN will direct Health Care Aides and other LPNs as needed, work within the CLPNM scope, and uphold professional ethics in a community-focused, not-for-profit setting.

Qualifications

• Current active licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) or eligible for active licensure with CLPNM.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
• Knowledge, competence and ability to demonstrate clinical nursing skills and concepts per approved standards.
• Basic knowledge and skills to work with computers and electronic software programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures.
• Provide clinical direction to Health Care Aides and other LPNs when assigned charge responsibilities.
• Practice within the scope of the Licensed Practical Nurses Act, CLPNM Scope of Practice and Entry-Level Competencies, and ethical guidelines.
• Maintain documentation and collaborate with the care team to ensure resident safety and quality of care.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Resident Care, the Licenses Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to residents in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The LPN provides clinical direction to Health Care Aides and other LPNs when the LPN is assigned charge responsibilities. LPNs recognize and fulfill their Professional responsibilities by practicing within the scope of practice of the Licensed Practical Nurses Act, the approved College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) Scope of Practice and Entry-Level Competencies, provincial and federal legislation and within the guidelines of professional ethics. The position of Registered Nurse functions in a manner consistent with, and supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Betel Home.

Physical Requirements

• Moderate to heavy physical effort required
• This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
