Job summary

Vehema Staffing in Nanaimo, BC is seeking a local Licensed Practical Nurse with LTC experience to join our team. You will assess patient needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, administer medications, and coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure quality care.

The ideal candidate holds a BCCNM license, CPR and TB testing, and has a valid driver’s license. Experience with Point Click Care and/or RAI is preferred; two way communication and flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid BCCNM license.
• CPR certification and TB test required.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.
• Driver's license with transportation preferred but not required.
• Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Point Click Care and/or RAI Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician.
• Observe and document patient condition and progress.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, eating).
• Maintain accurate records of patient care, condition, progress, and concerns.
• Provide education to patients and families about health maintenance and disease prevention.
• Communicate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate quality patient care.
• Assist in developing individualized patient care plans.
