Alberta Health Services at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support postpartum mothers and newborns in the Women's Health Float unit. The LPN will perform nursing duties, follow policies, and collaborate with an interprofessional team to provide safe, high-quality family-centered care.
Qualifications include accredited LPN education, CLHA registration, BCLS-HCP, NRP and CPR certifications, and recent Women's Health experience.
Located at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, working with postpartum patients, the Licensed Practical Nurse performs a variety of nursing duties by administering safe and effective nursing care according to hospital policies and nursing care standards. The Licensed Practical Nurse will care for postpartum mothers and newborns. The incumbent must demonstrate a professional attitude while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and consider the Essential Habits as set forth by the Royal Alex Way in daily interactions with colleagues, patients and visitors.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:NRP certification, CPR certification, recent experience in Women's Health, successful completion and passing of medication math examination at time of interview.
Preferred Qualifications:Recent experience in Med-surg units.
