Licensed Practical Nurse

QUALIFICATIONS

• Active practicing licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM), or eligibility for active practicing licensure with the CLPNM.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Training as outlined in Prairie Mountain Health Policy PPG-00002 CPR Training.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Internet applications, and other IT tools.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification.
• Introduction to Fetal Heart Monitoring (online course).
• Fetal Health Surveillance certification.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing techniques and procedures.
• Knowledge and competence in skills and concepts related to the position.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect diverse populations.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position regularly.

POSITION SUMMARY

In alignment with Prairie Mountain Health's vision, mission, and values, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients/residents/clients according to established standards, policies, and procedures. The LPN practices within the scope of the Licensed Practical Nurses Act, the CLPNM Scope of Practice, provincial and federal legislation, and professional ethics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Practice within their scope of practice, expertise, training, and experience, adhering to the following:
• The Licensed Practical Nurses Act of Manitoba.
• The CLPNM Standards of Practice.
• The CLPNM Code of Ethics.
• The Scope of Practice Entry-Level Competencies.
• Obtain and maintain relevant competencies as required by PMH.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
