Our client is a consistent winner of the best managed companies award in Canada. They are currently looking to add a Licensed Millwright to join their technical team in Southwest Ontario.

Your new role

In this new role you will maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul, and repair all equipment to required standards and be responsive to line calls and equipment failures. You will also be required to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Additionally, you will assist on-site contractors as required, perform preventative maintenance (PM's) on all equipment, and document and maintain details of inspections. You will be required to install, align, dismantle, and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools. Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as forklifts, jacks, and Manitou to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery. Operate machine tools such as grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.

What you will need to succeed

To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of two (2) years demonstrated and verifiable experience ideally working in a food processing environment. You must possess an Ontario Certificate of Qualification Industrial Maintenance Mechanic. Successful candidates will have a Certificate of Apprenticeship or possess a recognized equivalent (optional). You should be competent using SMAW and GTAW (TIG) welding processes. Working knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting experience is an asset. To stand out as a candidate, you should be able to work well under pressure, manage priorities, and meet deadlines. You will also have strong teamwork skills, be trustworthy, accountable, proactive, and have a positive work attitude.
