Job summary

Walker is seeking a Licensed Millwright to join our Arthur, ON facility, performing preventive and curative maintenance on a wide range of equipment. The role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and offers an hourly wage of $43.86.

You will be responsible for inspecting machinery, fabricating parts, interpreting blueprints, and diagnosing issues to minimize downtime while adhering to safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Millwright license and completion of an apprenticeship program in industrial machinery repair or millwrighting.
  • Experience as heavy duty equipment mechanic (421A) is an asset.
  • Ability to pay close attention to details and keep accurate records.
  • Knowledge of health and safety and environmental regulations.
  • Able to work with limited supervision and to take discretionary action as required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting machinery and equipment to detect defects and irregularities.
  • Using welding equipment and power tools to fabricate parts during maintenance or set-up of machinery.
  • Interpreting blueprints and schematic drawings to follow work procedures.
  • Troubleshooting in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and requirements.
  • Repairing or replacing defective components using hand and power tools.
  • Designing, welding and manufacturing custom parts when needed.
  • Performing PMs.
  • Exercising good judgement and discretion in prioritizing maintenance repairs.
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to established safety protocols and best work practices.
