Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Licensed Millwright to join our team at Jacobs & Thompson Inc., a leading manufacturing company in Toronto, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing machinery and mechanical systems in our production facility. You will ensure the smooth operation of equipment to optimize production efficiency and reduce downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment in the manufacturing facility.
  2. Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  3. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and make necessary repairs quickly to minimize production downtime.
  4. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manuals for proper equipment installation and maintenance.
  5. Collaborate with the production team to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  6. Follow all safety procedures and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  7. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports.
  8. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
Qualifications:
  1. Valid 433A Millwright License (Ontario).
  2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  4. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  5. Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems is an asset.
  6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  7. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  8. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety.
