Job summary

The Seaboard Transport Group is seeking Licensed Mechanics to join our Sydney, NS team. You will perform maintenance and repairs with safety as a priority, participate in safety meetings, and communicate clearly with colleagues.

This family-owned business emphasizes professional service, continuous development, and a supportive shop culture. Candidates should hold a Red Seal certification with experience in trucks and/or trailers.

Qualifications

• Must be a Red Seal certified truck/trailer mechanic.
• B620 inspector experience is an asset.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
• Proficiency with computers and modern shop tech.
• High level of professionalism and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs in accordance with safety standards and regulations.
• Attend safety and maintenance meetings.
• Interact professionally with colleagues and customers.
• Complete electronic work orders and keep a clean workspace.
• Diagnose issues and communicate required parts clearly and promptly.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and annual inspections.
• Pursue training opportunities to stay current.

Your Role:

• Perform maintenance and repairs in adherence to safety standards and regulations.
• Participate in safety and maintenance meetings.
• Engage in professional and service-oriented interactions with colleagues.
• Complete electronic work orders and maintain a clean workspace.
• Diagnose issues and communicate required parts effectively.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and annual motor vehicle inspections.
• Stay up to date with work-related training and development opportunities.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Red Seal certification as a truck and/or trailer mechanic.
• Experience as a B620 inspector (an asset but not required).
• Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
• Proficiency with computers.
• High level of professionalism and teamwork.
• Additional experience with tankers, trucks, dry vans, reefers, or welding is an asset.
