Qualifications

  • Fully licensed Industrial Electrician with experience in manufacturing and/or process industries.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, P&ID’s, equipment manuals, and other relevant materials.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used for construction or repair of electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of CMMS (SAP) fundamentals and ability to utilize it for daily work.

Responsibilities

  • Work rotating shifts consisting of days and nights.
  • Correct and prevent electrical/instrumentation/mechanical problems affecting safety, food safety, or OEE.
  • Identify, detect, and document potential repair problems on equipment.
  • Report HACCP food safety risks or problems.
  • Attend team meetings as required.
  • Create SAP work notifications (work orders, maintenance plans) and maintain records.
  • Maintain calibration and repair documentation for equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical/instrumentation/mechanical equipment and fixtures per codes.
  • Install and troubleshoot pneumatic, electronic, electrical, and analytical instrumentation devices.
  • Service process control networks and analytical instruments.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance to keep lines running with minimal downtime.
  • Maintain shop and work-area housekeeping.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Verbalize emergency or urgent repair problems effectively.
  • Comply with GMPs, safety, and HACCP SOPs.
  • Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety.
  • Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify errors or defects.
  • Manage time effectively for self and others.
  • Maintain safety standards per procedures.

Overview

The position is responsible for all electrical duties in the maintenance, operation, and repair of electrical systems. The role includes installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks to ensure the safe and effective operation of various electrical and mechanical equipment. This position reports to the Electrical Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Work rotating shifts consisting of days and nights.
  • Actively contribute to the team by correcting and preventing instrumentation, electrical, or mechanical problems that pose safety or food safety risks or affect OEE.
  • Identify, detect, and document potential repair problems on equipment during normal duties.
  • Report any HACCP food safety risks or identified problems.
  • Attend team meetings as required.
  • Manage daily SAP activities, account for all electrical/instrument deficiencies and findings by creating work notifications (work orders, maintenance plans).
  • Maintain and manage equipment calibration and repair documentation.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical/instrumentation/mechanical equipment and fixtures, ensuring compliance with relevant codes.
  • Install and troubleshoot pneumatic, electronic, electrical, and analytical instrumentation devices.
  • Service all process control communication networks.
  • Service environmental and other analytical instruments.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance supervision to keep the line running with minimum downtime.
  • Maintain housekeeping in the shop and any work areas.
  • Perform other duties/tasks as assigned by supervisor.
  • Verbalize identified emergency or urgent repair problems effectively.
  • Comply with GMPs, safety, and HACCP best operating procedures.
  • Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety.
  • Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify causes of errors or defects.
  • Manage time effectively for oneself and others.
  • Maintain safety standards of equipment and work areas according to established procedures and manager instructions.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the needs of the business.
Qualifications
  • Fully licensed Industrial Electrician with experience in manufacturing and/or process industries.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting complex electrical equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, P&ID’s, equipment manuals, and other relevant materials.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used for construction or repair of electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Logical reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Ability to select and use training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for learning or teaching new skills.
  • Understanding of CMMS (SAP) fundamentals and ability to utilize it for daily work.
  • Capability to develop respectful, constructive, and cooperative working relationships with others.
  • Strong communication skills and focus on tasks over extended periods without distraction.
Benefits and Compensation
  • $52.48 CAD hourly, with bonus eligibility and hourly pay differential for applicable shifts.
