Job summary

Wonderbrands is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician in Mississauga to repair, install, and maintain electrical systems across our bakery production lines. You will interpret blueprints, calibrate equipment, and ensure safe, efficient operations in a fast-paced setting.

This role supports continuous improvement and requires strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities. The ideal candidate has an industrial electrician license, 3+ years of relevant experience in a food-manufacturing

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Industrial Electrician License (442A) or 309A is required.
• 3+ years of industrial electrical and mechanical experience.
• Previous experience in a Food manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible shift (days/evenings/nights).
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Repairing, troubleshooting and installation of electrical wiring and machinery including electrical and electronic equipment, control systems and automation.
• Maintain, repair, install and test PLC and HMI programming changes and troubleshooting including modification and calibration of equipment; weight scales, VFD, Servomotors and network communications experience.
• Reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
• Testing electrical wiring of automated systems and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Optimizing equipment safety, efficiency and reliability, participating in continuous improvement projects and completing work orders according to PM schedules.
• Complying with all applicable legislative and Bakery food safety, health and safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Servicing, cleaning and performing preventative maintenance and overhaul on all production and bakery equipment, and keeping maintenance records.
• Continually improving equipment function via design improvements.
• Ensuring that work area is clean of debris and hazards at all times and check work area for such hazards upon arrival and when departing each area of work.
• Working in a safe manner in accordance with legislated and company health and safety standards.
• Performing other related duties as assigned or required.

Overview

Benefits:

• $5.00 per hour for the night premium (7pm to 7am)
• $1.00 Refrigeration License B
• Up to 5% quarterly BTIP bonus based on company targets (ex. $43.00+5%= $45.67 per hour if we hit our targets)
• $500 annual tool allowance (receipts required for reimbursement)
• $199 + tax annual boot allowance (through our vendor only – keep receipts for reimbursement)
• $200 referral bonus for applicable candidates
• Pension plan, after 1 year, Wonderbrands will match up to 2%, and it can increase based on age/years of service
• 2 weeks’ vacation per year to start
• 3 paid sick days per year

Requirements

• General knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and ability to assist all tradespeople as required.
• Problem solving skills and good communication skills are required.
• Comfortable using computers.
• Ability to work well within a team and independently.
• Comfortable with occasional heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
• You really enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where every day can bring new and unique challenges.
• Ability to work a flexible shift day/afternoon/night, Sunday to Saturday.
• Refrigeration Operator license an asset.
