Salary: $25.00-$35.00 / Hourly

Job Description

Registered Dental Assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. The primary role of the RDA is to assist the dentist in gaining the patient’s commitment to the best possible treatment, with urgency. Key duties include:

• Utilizing x-ray time to promote the qualities of the dentist
• Learning patient expectations and educating them with intra-oral pictures
• Using effective chair-side skills
• Supporting the dentist’s diagnosis after examinations and answering patient questions
• Following procedures for safety, infection control, and permitted duties in compliance with regulations

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist to gain patient commitment for treatment
• Participate in the Perfect Patient ExperienceÔ by focusing on patient needs and concerns
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and welcoming environment
• Prepare patients for treatment and assist the doctors
• Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures as directed
• Instruct patients on postoperative and oral health care
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment per ADA guidelines
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, Dental Board, etc.)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; required training courses for certification, licensure, or registration as mandated by state
• Certifications/licenses for procedures such as radiography, ultrasonic scaling, sealant application, etc., as required by state
• Associate degree or one-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school preferred
