Summary

This role involves servicing, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, modification, installation, and testing of radio, radar, cabin management, and navigation systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and install wiring between major units, remote controls, and indicating devices, interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with standard avionic installations, practices, materials, and manuals related to avionic systems.
  • Assist in removing and reinstalling interior furnishings and perform minor repairs to aircraft interiors based on expertise.
  • Certify avionics installations using company-issued ACA when required.
  • Inspect components, parts, units, and materials to meet Transport Canada / FAA / EASA standards of airworthiness and participate in approved apprenticeship programs. Responsible for ensuring the conformity of manufactured interior components and furnishings.

Requirements

  • Trade school diploma and/or apprenticeship, or college degree in Avionics or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience with AC-DE electronic theory, aircraft audio systems, communication, navigation equipment, pulse techniques, autopilot, flight control systems, and civil aviation regulations.
  • Having an Avionics "E" license (or M1/M2) is an asset.
  • Full YUL AVOP and RAIC certifications within the first 6 months of employment.
  • Ability to lift at least 32 lbs overhead.
  • Willingness to work night shifts (8 pm to 4 am), independently and responsibly.
  • Location preference for candidates near YUL; others must be willing to relocate before starting.
