Job summary

Altruck International Truck Centres in Goderich is seeking a Licensed 310T Truck and Coach Technician or a 2nd/3rd year apprentice under a valid Training Agreement to join our team. You will perform maintenance and repairs on heavy trucks, diagnose issues, and communicate findings to customers.

The role requires reading manuals, using diagnostic tools, and delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary training in motive power/auto technology an asset.
• Licensed 310T Truck & Coach Technician or 2nd/3rd year apprentice with valid Training Agreement and 2–3 years of experience.
• Valid G class driver’s license with good driving record; Z endorsement an asset.
• Must have necessary hand tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, safeties and repairs on heavy-duty trucks including diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Conduct inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
• Use manufacturer service manuals and data to repair and maintain vehicles.
• Communicate with customers to explain work needed.
• Work efficiently to meet deadlines and minimize downtime.
• Attend training classes and dealer-specific courses as scheduled by management.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste.
