Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on school buses and other fleet vehicles.
- Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to identify issues.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with all Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations.
- Perform preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide on-site repairs when necessary.
- Collaborate with the dispatch and operations team to ensure vehicle availability.
- Keep up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Adhere to workplace safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid 310T / 310S Truck and Coach Technician License (mandatory).
- Previous experience as a mechanic, preferably in the school bus or transit industry.
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle diagnostics and repair.
- Familiarity with MTO safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
