DRIVEN is looking to add an experienced Licensed (310S) Technician for our brand new state-of-the-art Service Department.
We are looking to add another mechanic to our growing service team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnosing and repairing problems relating to mechanical, engine, and electrical components.
- Performing vehicle inspections and assessments including diagnosing issues.
- Maintaining required tools for the job.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Executing repairs to manufacturer specifications.
- Test-driving vehicles and testing components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Working in a high-volume dealership with a busy service department.
- Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition.
- Raising cars and trucks using hydraulic jacks or hoists.
- Specializing in repairing and troubleshooting major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials, including replacing complete assemblies, turbochargers, and fuel system components.
- Meeting tight deadlines with attention to detail.
- Communicating directly with managers and service advisors to inform customers of any additional services needed.
- Ensuring full compliance with all Health & Safety regulations.
- Road testing vehicles as required.
- Maintaining complete knowledge of and complying with company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
- Maintaining a positive working relationship with team members and management in a team environment.
- Setting up and organizing individual work areas with designated supplies, forms, and resource materials while maintaining cleanliness.
Skills and Qualifications
- 2+ years of dealership experience as a licensed technician.
- Strong automotive dealership background with solid attention to detail.
- Automotive service technician trade certification to meet provincial requirements - Must have 310S License.
- Maintaining all relevant licenses and qualifications to perform duties.
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical repairs and procedures.
- Knowledge of Provincial Safety Standards concerning performance and area of position responsibility.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract.
- Ability to drive manual transmission is required for this role.
- Ability to work cohesively with employees and managers as part of a team.
- Must be able to communicate in verbal and written English.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- A passion for safety and mechanical excellence.
- Must possess the recommended minimum hand tools for a 310 Technician.
- Completing reports to record problems and work performed.
- Must have your own tools and safety shoes.
- Maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair.
- Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
- Ability to operate all auto repair tools.
- Knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment is a must.
- Experience with PBS Systems is an asset.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
