C.U.P.E. 2357 (10 month, Level 5)

Part-time 0.50 FTE position

Under the direction of the Principal, the Library Technician:

  • Operates the school Learning Commons and provides services in an automated/digital environment to meet the needs of staff and students

  • Promotes authors, books, literacy, technology and holds special events

  • Performs administrative functions associated with the Learning Commons and/or school

  • Coordinates volunteers’ activities

  • Performs other duties, as assigned by the supervisor


Required Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Degree/diploma in relevant field (i.e. Library Technician, Information Science, etc)

  • 2 years of related experience

  • Expertise with Insignia (or similar library software systems), Google Suite, computer hardware and software, mobile technology, various AV equipment

  • Comfortable learning and promoting new technologies (3D printing, robotics, coding, cricut, etc.)

  • Positive team player and ability to work independently as well

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

  • Individuals who possess an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered

This is a permanent 10 month position. The annual full time salary range is $47,612 - $51,304, which will be prorated as applicable to reflect a part-time 0.50 FTE position . An employee benefits and pension package is also provided.

The anticipated start date for this position will be May 26, 2025.
