What do you want to be today? Edmonton Public Library is looking for a dynamic and creative operational wizard to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic operational wizard (aka Library Services Coordinator) who enjoys working with staff and the public in a challenging and fast-paced environment.

What we're looking for:
Our Library Services Coordinators are friendly and supremely organized leaders who want to make a difference in the community. They recruit, support, coach and train staff, model excellent customer service, negotiate the thorny wilderness, and slay the scheduling demons. They use their powers for good to ensure the smooth operation of the branch and then accomplish ten impossible things before lunch.

Qualifications

Qualifications :

  • An Information Management/Library Technology diploma or a directly related diploma with significant course content focused on education or community work, or an undergraduate degree.
  • A minimum of five years of related experience in customer service, membership, and facilitating classes and events.
  • A minimum of two years of related supervisory experience.
  • Experience scheduling staff.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating work procedures and operational workflow.
  • Experience in developing and presenting classes and events for customers of all ages.
  • Experience in the use of circulation databases, electronic resources, and equipment.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office programs and internet applications.

  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to supervise and coach staff members.

  • Ability to write, develop, and interpret circulation policies and procedures.
  • Experience in planning activities for the public is desirable.
  • Experience in providing instruction to individuals and/or small groups is an asset.

  • This position consists of varied schedules which include day, evening and weekend shifts .
  • Satisfactory background screening is required for this position, which includes a Criminal Record Check/Police Information Check.

Pay Band:
$41.02 - $52.60 per hour* *Approximately $74,954 - $95,661 per annum based on a 35 hour work week. Shift differential may apply in accordance with the terms and conditions of the CSU 52 Collective Agreement.
