Job description

The Town of Cardston Library Board is seeking a dynamic, creative, and innovative library professional to fill the position of Library Manager for the Jim and Mary Kearl Library.

SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE:

  1. All duties connected to the operation of the circulation desk
  2. Scheduling and supervising staff
  3. Preparing payroll information
  4. Collection, development, and management of library resources
  5. Facility management
  6. Balancing cash and preparing bank deposits
  7. Accounts payable
  8. Assist with the management of policies and procedures
  9. Preparation of statistical and government filing requirements
  10. Preparation of annual budget
  11. Working with accountants for preparation of financial statements
  12. Attendance at monthly board meetings
  13. Grant writing
  14. Other related tasks as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience in library and office administration
  2. Experience in staff supervision
  3. Detail-oriented
  4. Community minded
  5. Experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable
  6. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, WORD, Excel, and Outlook
  7. Previous library experience would be an asset

The Library Manager will be involved in the day-to-day planning operations of the library. The ability to communicate and work well with the public is essential.

The successful candidate must possess a commitment to the ongoing development of exceptional public library service to meet the diverse needs of patrons residing in Cardston and the surrounding area. Residing in the Cardston area is required. Salary is negotiable, and benefits will be the same as those given employees of the Town of Cardston.
