Job summary

John Smeaton Academy seeks a passionate and highly organised Librarian to manage the academy library and support students’ learning and development. You will promote reading for pleasure, assist with independent learning, and collaborate with staff to enhance literacy across the academy.

We value excellent communication, ICT competence, and experience working with young people in education, offering a supportive environment and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
• A passion for reading, literacy and education, with a commitment to inspiring young people to become confident readers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Good ICT skills and the ability to support the effective management of library resources and systems.
• Experience of working with young people in an educational setting and supporting their learning and development.

John Smeaton Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Librarian to play a key role in supporting our students’ learning and personal development through the effective management of our academy library. Working closely with students and staff, you will create a welcoming and inspiring environment that promotes reading for pleasure, independent learning and academic success.

Potential Applicants Should Have

• GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
