Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities Tasks:

  • Supervise library technicians, assistants and clerks
  • Provide reference services
  • Conduct library information and orientation training programs and tours
  • Perform reference searches and make interlibrary loans for users
  • Provide specialized programs for children, seniors and other groups
  • Recommend acquisition of books, periodicals, audio-visual, interactive media and other materials
  • Select, classify, catalogue and weed library materials
  • Supervise office and volunteer staff

Supervision:

  • 5-10 people
  • Staff in various areas of responsibility

  • MARC21
  • Dewey decimal classification

Computer and technology knowledge:

  • SirsiDynix
  • Internet/Intranet/Externet/Freenet

  • Serials or newspapers
