As part of the partnership between the Pessamit Innu Council and Aramark Quebec, we are looking for a liaison officer from the Pessamit community for Hydro-Québec's Manic-3 camp.

Under the supervision of the relevant management and in accordance with Innu culture and sector objectives, the liaison officer acts as an intermediary between the various stakeholders, including the Pessamit community, employees, businesses, and government agencies.

The liaison officer's main role is to facilitate communication, provide support to employees, and contribute to a respectful and inclusive work environment. The liaison officer helps organize awareness and training activities, supports employees in their integration, and handles the administrative follow-up for certain employment-related procedures.

Job Responsibilities

Communication

  • Act as a link between employees, the community, businesses, and relevant organizations.
  • Convey information clearly and in a manner appropriate to each stakeholder.
  • Facilitate exchanges to promote a good understanding of everyone's expectations and needs.

Employment

  • Support employees in their integration into the workplace.
  • Offer support in their professional development by directing them to the appropriate resources.
  • Be available to respond to employee concerns and guide them toward appropriate solutions.

Awarness and training

  • Help organize workshops and information sessions on Indigenous culture, safety, and internal processes.
  • Raise awareness among employers and employees about the realities and needs of the Pessamit community.
  • Promote a respectful and inclusive work environment.

Administrative and Logistical Follow-up

  • Monitor employee attendance and report any issues to the relevant management.
  • Provide administrative follow-up related to employee management (e.g., specific requests, incident reports).
  • Write simple reports on the status of relations between the parties and recommendations for improvement.

Workplace Relations

  • Identify issues that may affect workplace relations.
  • Direct the parties involved to the appropriate resources for resolving disputes.
  • Provide support in managing tensions in the workplace.
Qualifications
  • Priority given to members of the Pessamit community.
  • College diploma or college certificate in administrative techniques or equivalent;
  • Experience in human resources supervision is an asset;
  • A combination of training and experience may be considered;
  • Knowledge of Indigenous issues and the realities of the Pessamit community;
  • Good command of computer tools for administrative follow-up (Microsoft 365, Adobe, payroll software, etc.);
  • Bilingual in French and Innu.
