Job Description: LG 208AA (Local Government Management Practices) Online Delivery (2026 Winter Term)

This course provides students with an overview of the skills necessary to become an effective manager in local government today. Topics include an introduction to public sector management, effective leadership, and the fundamental functions of local government. Students will learn the knowledge and skills to manage a small to medium size municipality in Saskatchewan.

Position Requirements: Candidates should have a Master's degree in a relevant area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. LG instructors are asked to attend LG Advisory meetings (approximately two per year) as well as instructor team meetings as needed.

Teaching and Curriculum Development Qualifications

This course will be offered in an online delivery format. Candidates are responsible for ensuring course material and curriculum meets current municipal sector and University academic requirements. Candidates should have a good understanding of post-secondary academic standards and have strong communication and analytic skills to provide clear and effective written feedback for students on assignments and exams.
