  • Position Summary: This course presents the fundamentals of financial accounting theory and practice at the introductory level. Basic accounting principles, their application in modern business organizations, the preparation of business records and financial reports are considered.
Position Requirements

Candidates should have a Masters degree in a relevant area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LG instructors are asked to attend LG Advisory meetings (approximately two per year) as well as instructor team meetings as needed. Feedback from students and evaluation by the Division Head will ensure high-quality teaching. Communication with other instructors is encouraged to ensure consistency across the program.

Teaching and Curriculum Development Qualifications

This course will be offered online. Candidates are responsible for ensuring the course material and curriculum meet current municipal sector and university standards. Candidates should have a good understanding of post-secondary academic standards and possess strong communication and analytical skills to provide effective feedback on student assignments and exams.

The course will be delivered asynchronously online. Familiarity with UR Courses is an asset.
