Position Purpose

This role oversees NDT inspections, ensuring compliance with industry codes, standards, and procedures. The Level II Technician maintains expertise in NDT methods, provides mentorship to Level I and Trainee Technicians, and may require on-call, overtime, and travel to Western Canada, with an estimated start in early July.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts NDT field inspections per standards and policies.
  • Prepares and completes all required documentation.
  • Ensures equipment is properly set up, calibrated, and functional.
  • Applies testing criteria according to specifications for conventional and advanced NDT methods.
  • Mentors and guides Level I and Trainee Technicians.
  • Sets boundaries and monitors work areas for safety.
  • Provides orientation and training to junior technicians.
  • Promotes safety culture and maintains high-quality inspection standards.
  • Represents the company with clients, regulatory bodies, and industry groups.
  • Adheres to organizational policies, including ethics and confidentiality.
  • Performs additional duties as required.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of NDT techniques, services, and procedures.
  • Understanding of industry codes, regulations, and practices.
  • Ability to set up, calibrate, and interpret NDT equipment.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of NDT inspection experience.
  • Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) Level II certification.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Working Conditions

  • Work may be indoors or outdoors, in various weather conditions.
  • Use of PPE required; potential exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Occasional work outside normal hours and travel within Canada.
