Job summary

Johnson Electric in Stratford, Ontario is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Millwright Apprentice to join our on-site team. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Enrollment in or completion of Millwright trade school is expected.
  • Willingness to complete internal training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in installing, inspecting, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Support troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments.
  • Operate lifting and hoisting equipment to position machinery and parts.
  • Fabricate components using machine tools such as lathes and grinders.
  • Assist in assembling machinery and supporting equipment installation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop.
  • Communicate effectively between shifts and with team members.
  • Follow and support Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (5S, CI, etc.).

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
Bonus Points If You Have:
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, or welding
  • Hands‑on experience in manufacturing or maintenance environments
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working with tools and industrial equipment
