About the Role

This position is a float staff position that supports the child care operations through delivery of approved curriculum that meets the social, emotional and physical development of children ages 3-12. The chosen candidate would support classrooms with breaks and rotate from room to room where needed.

Responsibilities
  • Guide and redirect children in situations when conflicts arise using a variety of positive child guidance techniques
  • Work and communicate with a team to implement Child Care curriculum which may include Playing to Learn, FLIGHT and A Place to Connect.
  • Consistently provide a safe and clean environment following all cleaning / sanitizing procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Ensure children are accounted for at all times
  • Treat all families respectfully, bearing in mind their values, culture and background
  • Build relationships with families and communicate, verbally and in writing on a daily basis
Qualifications
  • Experience working with children
  • Level 1 Child Care Certification (or in progress)
  • Standard or Child Care First Aid & CPR – C
  • Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable sector check
