DATA Communications Management Corp. (DCM) is seeking a Letter Press Operator to perforate, score, die cut, foil and emboss printed materials for client projects. This is an onsite role on days, Monday to Friday, in Calgary, AB.

You will load substrates, set up presses, monitor quality, and maintain equipment. Prior letterpress experience is preferred, with strength in English communication and safe lifting of up to 40 lbs.

Responsabilidades

• Set up letterpress equipment for each job, including makeready and adjustments.
• Run jobs accurately and consistently, meeting quantity and quality requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve press issues, including stock problems, mechanical malfunctions, and other job-related challenges.
• Inspect printed sheets throughout the run, identifying and correcting defects.
• Keep the press and surrounding work area clean, organized, and free of debris.
• Develop and follow a preventative maintenance schedule to keep equipment running reliably.

The Role

As a Letter Press Operator (Large Press Finishing Operator), you will be responsible for perforating, scoring, die cutting, foiling and embossing printed materials for our valued clients in an efficient manner.

This is an onsite role working Monday to Friday on day shift (7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) in our Calgary site.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and load the correct substrate according to the print docket specifications
• Set up letterpress equipment for each job, including makeready and adjustments
• Run jobs accurately and consistently, meeting quantity and quality requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve press issues, including stock problems, mechanical malfunctions, and other job-related challenges
• Inspect printed sheets throughout the run, identifying and correcting defects
• Keep the press and surrounding work area clean, organized, and free of debris
• Clean the press and work area thoroughly after each job
• Develop and follow a preventative maintenance schedule to keep equipment running reliably

Skills & Experiences

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent; prior letterpress experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of the printing industry, including mechanical and press maintenance
• Familiarity with the range of letterpress applications and processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Experience with Heidelberg Cylinder, Windmill, and Kluge presses is an asset
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
