Job summary

Canada Post is seeking a temporary, on-call Letter Carrier to represent the company in Kingston, ON. You will start in the depot, sort and prepare deliveries, load a postal vehicle, and deliver mail and parcels on foot or by vehicle on your route.

Applicants should be comfortable working outdoors in all weather, have a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and be able to read and speak English and/or French. Training and growth opportunities exist within the company.

Qualifications

  • A valid Class5 or ClassG driver’s license with a safe driving record for at least 3 years.
  • The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather.
  • On-call availability and ability to read, write and speak English and/or French.
  • Experience in customer service and delivering or driving roles is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Start the day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries.
  • Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle.
  • Spend most of the day outside delivering mail and packages by foot or by vehicle.
  • Return to the depot to unload incoming mail and packages for later delivery.
