Job summary

Canada Post is seeking a part-time, permanent Delivery Agent to serve as the face of the company in Whitehorse, delivering mail and parcels to residents and businesses while working outdoors in all weather.

The role requires a valid driver’s licence, physical ability to lift heavy items, and a commitment to safety. Prior customer service or delivery experience is advantageous. Training and competitive pay are provided.

Qualifications

• A valid Class5 or ClassG driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years (driver's abstract required).
• The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly.
• The ability to work in all types of weather.
• Experience in customer service is helpful.
• Experience making deliveries or working as a driver is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Start your day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries.
• Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle.
• Deliver mail and packages by foot or by vehicle to customers on your route.
• Return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery.
