Job summary

Canada Post in Elliot Lake, Ontario, is seeking delivery agents for a temporary assignment. You will start your day sorting items at the depot, then drive a Canada Post vehicle to deliver mail and packages along your route.

Most of the day is spent delivering on foot or by vehicle, with time at the depot for unloading before next-day deliveries. Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to work in all weather.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s license with a safe driving record for at least 3 years.
• Must be able to lift and carry mail items as described and work in all weather conditions.
• On-call availability is required and English and/or French reading/writing is needed.

Responsibilities

• Sort and prepare day’s deliveries at the depot.
• Load and drive a Canada Post vehicle to deliver mail and packages.
• Spend most of the day delivering mail and packages on the route by foot or vehicle.
• Return to the depot to unload the day’s mail and packages for next-day delivery.

Job Responsibilities

What will you do?

• You’ll start your day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries
• You’ll load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle

• You’ll return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery

Qualifications

What must you have?

• A valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years (driver's abstract required)
• The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
• The ability to work in all types of weather
• The availability to be on-call
• The ability to read, write and speak English and/or French
