Job summary

Canada Post is seeking a temporary, on-call Delivery Agent (Letter Carrier) to service Dryden, Ontario. You will start at the depot, sort and prepare deliveries, then drive a Canada Post vehicle to deliver mail and parcels on your route, returning to the depot to unload for the next day.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in all weather. On-call availability and English or French language skills are essential.

Qualifications

• A valid Class 5 or Class G driver's licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years.
• The physical ability to lift up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly.
• The ability to work in all kinds of weather.
• On-call availability.
• Ability to read, write and speak English and/or French.

Responsibilities

• Sort and prepare the day’s deliveries at the depot.
• Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle.
• Deliver mail and packages on your route by foot or vehicle.
• Return to the depot to unload the day’s mail and packages.

Job Responsibilities

What will you do?

• You’ll start your day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries
• You’ll load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle

• You’ll then spend most of your day outside, delivering mail and packages by foot or by vehicle to customers on your route
• You’ll return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery

• The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
