Job summary

Canada Post is hiring a temporary, on-call Delivery Agent in Ajax, ON. You’ll be the face of Canada Post in the community, delivering mail and parcels on your route, on foot or by vehicle, and returning to the depot for next shifts.

Candidates must have a valid Class5 or ClassG driver’s licence, be able to lift up to 22.7 kg, read and write English and/or French, and be available on-call in all weather. We offer competitive pay, extensive training, and potential for permanent opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class5 or ClassG driver’s licence with a safe driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly
  • Must be able to work in all weather and be available on-call
  • Experience in customer service and delivering or driving is a plus
  • English and/or French reading, writing and speaking proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Start the day in the depot, sorting and preparing deliveries
  • Load and drive a Canada Post vehicle
  • Deliver mail and packages on your route by foot or vehicle
  • Return to the depot to unload and prepare for the next day

Job Responsibilities

What will you do?

  • You’ll start your day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries
  • You’ll load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle

  • You’ll return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery
Qualifications

What must you have?

  • A valid Class5 or ClassG driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3years (driver's abstract required)
  • The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7kg (50lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9kg (35lb) regularly throughout the day
  • The ability to work in all types of weather
  • The availability to be on-call
  • The ability to read, write and speak English and/or French
