About this opportunity:

The Legal Summer Student will be involved in a variety of projects and opportunities to understand the team and function better and to further develop their legal knowledge. The role will work closely under the supervision of a legal team member. Scope of the role will depend on the function and the complexity of the work assigned will vary depending on the individual.

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Supporting with corporate legal matters including maintenance of corporate records.
• Legal research and analysis.
• Reviewing and drafting legal contracts.
• Supporting on legal team tasks and projects relating to legal matters, including corporate, securities, litigation, commercial, privacy, and a variety of other legal areas.
• Attending team meetings.

• Microsoft Office
• Google Suites

Physical Demands:

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office with exposure to manufacturing environments.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc).
• Basic manufacturing system knowledge.
• This is a hybrid role. The Legal Summer Student will be expected to be in the office two to three days per week in Toronto, Ontario.

Typical Experience:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Typical Education:

• Currently enrolled in a JD program, preferably in first or second year.
