Legal Operations Specialist (French Speaking)

We are looking for an impactful Legal Operations Specialist to join our expanding Legal Operations Team! The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to juggle competing priorities with a collaborative and transparent approach. This is a generalist role focusing on all Legal Team functional groups with responsibilities including process improvement, cross-functional engagement, litigation, e-discovery, outside counsel and vendor management, project management, and departmental initiatives to manage costs and maximize efficiencies. The position reports to the Head of Legal Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with legal and cross-functional teams to improve operational processes.
  • Assist in implementing programs, processes, and tools to enhance workflows, including creating playbooks and intake templates.
  • Develop and iterate metrics and benchmarking through data analytics to measure team performance and efficiency.
  • Manage outside counsel and vendor relationships, including engagement agreements, budgets, and billing compliance.
  • Support e-billing and matter management in partnership with the Legal Operations e-Billing Lead, optimizing platform efficiencies.
  • Respond to and manage e-billing inquiries.
  • Improve personnel management processes, such as onboarding and training materials, to realize organizational efficiencies.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Must be fluent in French.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
  • At least 2+ years of legal operations experience in-house or at a law firm.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels.
  • Understanding of financial management principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and process improvement experience.
  • Litigation experience.
  • Business partnering skills with professionalism, collegiality, and transparency.
  • Proactive, entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving.
  • Ownership and strong follow-through skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills to handle multiple projects.
  • Flexibility to adapt to change.
  • Experience with tools like Onit, Legal Tracker, Ironclad, Evisort, Tonkean, or similar, plus Google Suite, is a plus.

The base pay range in Toronto is CAD $71,200 - CAD $89,000, dependent on experience and qualifications. Salary is exclusive of bonuses, equity, or benefits.
