A legal regulatory body in Canada is seeking a Legal Information Officer to provide comprehensive client service, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate legal information and resources. The ideal candidate will have a college diploma or degree and a license from the Law Society, combined with excellent communication skills and client service experience in a legal context. The role includes supporting clients through a remote working model, with occasional office meetings in Toronto.
Job Summary
The Legal Information Officer is responsible for providing timely, accurate, quality client service to lawyers, licensed paralegals, and the general public, as well as to other Law Society departments and outside agencies. This includes providing referrals, legal information, and legal resources to members of the public and contributing to the development of processes and procedures related to the Law Society Referral Service (LSRS). The role provides support to the public on the LSRS crisis line, which may include providing a referral but often includes helping a member of the public understand what the legal issue is and what sources of assistance may be available, either through the LSO or otherwise.

Team Membership
The Law Society has introduced a Distributed Workforce Model to leverage flexibility and agility, and to maximize employee productivity and engagement. Work arrangements will be determined by role and departmental requirements. The working arrangement for this position has been classified as remote, where the employee will work from home in Ontario, but may be expected to come into the office during team meetings to the Toronto location.
