ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Legal Counsel, Corporate & Procurement, reporting to the Global Head of Corporate Legal and Governance and Corporate Secretary, you will work with various stakeholders to manage the corporate and procurement activities from a legal perspective, and ensure the proper governance and maintenance of the legal documentation of Innocap.
Your primary responsibilities will include :
Contribute to the achievement of the business objectives by advising various teams on the legal aspects of vendor agreements, mainly related to the corporate needs of the Innocap Group (IT Services, Market Data Services, resources services, etc.
Lead or support, as applicable, negotiations with service providers.
Draft agreements that balance business needs and an adequate level of risk.
Act as the main point of contact for the preparation and update of intra-group services agreements.
Ensure the effective operation of the procurement function and related processes.
Participate in the strategic deployment of a company-wide document management solution.
Monitor regulatory developments and provide strategic guidance to Innocap, while actively contributing to the implementation of regulatory, corporate and procurement initiatives.
Ensure the proper sharing of corporate information internally and externally, especially for customer due diligence and anti-money laundering compliance;
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIOND & SKILLS
Member of the bar of at least one Canadian province or territory or one U.S. state, preferably Québec, Ontario and / or New York;
Minimum of 6years of experience in transactional, commercial, or corporate law (inter-company relations, procurement, insurance, etc.) acquired either in-house or at a law firm;
Strong business acumen;
Keen interest in developing, implementing and managing electronic solutions for document management;
Knowledge of the financial markets;
Thorough and detail-oriented;
Bilingualism is essential, with strong drafting skills in both French and English, critical for the international nature of the work.
