Role
Legal Counsel, Contracts – KONE Americas
Are you ready to join our team in Mississauga as our Legal Counsel, Contracts for KONE Americas?
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze and perform risk assessment of new installation, modernization, maintenance and repair contracts and bids of various complexities.
- Negotiate contracts with customers to reduce risk and improve outcomes.
- Analyze customer responses and provide guidance on contract matters; help streamline the contracting process.
- Lead and support the Contract Management team on high risk / high exposure contracts; offer advice and ensure compliance with legal standards and company policies.
- Review, analyze and negotiate business line contracts (new installation, modernization, service and repair) to manage risks and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of progressive and successful experience with commercial contracts in a corporate or law firm setting; strong negotiation skills for complex contract requirements.
- B.A. or B.S. degree and Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from an accredited Canadian law school or equivalent.
- Must be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Bilingual in French-Canadian required.
- Ability to manage workload to meet all due dates; understanding of contract management processes.
- High standard of customer service and confidentiality; knowledge of KONE products and services, including branch issues, shipping schedules and installations.

- Demonstrate highest level of personal and professional ethical conduct and confidentiality.
- Understanding of legal concepts, terms and negotiation issues.
- Ability to advise on contract management processes and issues.

Compensation
- Annual base pay range: $113,900 – $156,640. Compensation depends on ability to meet role requirements, skills, experience, certifications and location.
- Variable compensation: KONE Annual Bonus plan at 15% Target Incentive (50/50) based on company and individual goals.

Exigences et Compétences
- Minimum de 2 ans d\'expérience en contrats commerciaux, cabinet ou entreprise, avec solides compétences de négociation.
- Diplôme de baccalauréat et J.D. ou LL.B.
- Membre en règle du Barreau de l\'Ontario.
- Excellentes compétences en communication; bilinguisme requis en français canadien.
- Capacité à gérer la charge de travail et à respecter les échéances; connaissance des processus de gestion de contrats.
