Our client is hiring a Legal Coordinator, Research Agreements, Grants & Funding to help achieve their mission of advancing critical healthcare research for all Canadians. This is a newly created role, and the Coordinator will play a key part on the corporate team. Reporting to a Senior Executive, the Coordinator will liaise with partner institutions (universities, hospitals, science labs) to review and process research funding agreements and grants. Responsibilities include customizing agreements, negotiating terms, answering questions, making approved changes, determining timelines, and following up to ensure timely reviews, approvals, and signatures. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, along with a keen eye for detail and proactive follow-up, are essential.
Candidates should have at least 3 years, preferably 4+ years, of relevant experience, including direct experience with agreements related to research grants and funding. Experience in a law firm as a legal assistant or junior paralegal is highly preferred. Healthcare sector experience, especially in healthcare research, is a plus but not required. Strong systems skills (MS Office, Teams, SharePoint) are necessary.
Based in Vancouver. Initially, more days in the office for training and relationship building, transitioning to approximately 2 days/week in the office and 3 days/week remote, with some flexibility.
Base salary ranges from $52,000 to $75,000, depending on experience and qualifications. The organization also offers comprehensive health & dental benefits, 4 weeks paid vacation, and a pension plan. Please discuss your total compensation expectations with SWIM.
