About This Role

We are seeking an experienced, flexible legally trained professional to advise on, draft, and negotiate sophisticated agreements across various sectors, notably in technology, between CAE and its suppliers. Based in Montreal, this role is key in enabling timely business deals with suppliers and advising on or negotiating contractual terms for CAE.

Main Responsibilities
  • Identify legal and contractual solutions to support procurement and business teams in closing deals and achieving operational, technical, and savings objectives.
  • Draft and negotiate various contracts related to all CAE business units, including but not limited to SaaS agreements, license agreements, contracts for goods & services, MOUs, LOIs, and partnership agreements.
  • Recommend legal and contractual risk mitigation strategies concerning indemnification, liabilities, warranties, and commercial terms.
  • Advise procurement teams and business units on contractual issues related to supply, joint collaborations, especially in Intellectual Property and Technology licensing.
  • Lead the development and implementation of contract templates, including digital and software licensing.
The Successful Candidate Shall Have

To succeed, the candidate must demonstrate:

  • A university degree in law or relevant equivalent experience.
  • 3-8 years of experience in a law firm or corporation, including licensing agreements, IP, commercial transactions, and drafting commercial agreements.
  • Flexibility in contract negotiations and ability to propose legal solutions to facilitate deal closure.
  • Ability to creatively draft and adapt contractual language based on business needs.
  • Strong collaboration skills with stakeholders, using good business acumen.
  • Autonomy, proactivity, and ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with digital tools such as MS Office and SAP Ariba.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Bilingual in French and English, both oral and written.
