You will coordinate, revise, transcribe, and organize legal documents while supporting practice management needs and performing general office duties.

Responsibilities include document creation, expense reporting, file openings, client interaction, scheduling, pre-billing, travel arrangements, and maintaining organized records.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in a family law practice in a law firm.
  • Legal Assistant Diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Solid understanding of Family Law Rules and court filing processes.
  • Hands-on experience with transactional/complex documents.
  • Document management and strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Transcription and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
  • Excel/PowerPoint charting familiarity.
  • Professional communication and exceptional client service.
  • Strong organizational ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support by creating documents and correspondence through transcription and copy-typing, with revisions as needed.
  • Handle expense reports, courier forms, file openings, photocopying, scanning, faxing, filing and organizing file folders.
  • Interact professionally with all firm members and clients.
  • Photocopy or organize documents for distribution, mailing and binding.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments, meetings and conferences.
  • Prepare and generate pre-bills for monthly billing.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and reservations.
  • Maintain and file correspondence, invoices and receipts in paper and digital formats.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

Legal Assistant - Family
Hybrid work! - 3 Days Work from Home

Our client, a highly regarded and well respected law firm, located in the core of downtown Toronto seeks a Family Law Legal Assistant to join its well known team. This is a full time permanent role.

In this role you will be responsible for coordinating, revising, transcribing and organizing legal and administrative documents. Keeping with practice management needs and perform other general office duties as required.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative l support creating documents and correspondence through transcription and copy-typing, making revisions as necessary.
  • Provide administrative support which include (but not limited to) completing expense reports, courier forms, file opening forms, photocopying, scanning, faxing, filing and creation of file folders.
  • Professionally interact with all firm members and clients.
  • Photocopy and/or organize documents for distribution, mailing and binding.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments, meetings, and conferences.
  • Prepare and generate pre-bills for monthly billing, as needed.
  • Book travel and make reservations, as required.
  • Organize, maintain, and accurately file correspondence, invoices and receipts via paper and digital formats.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Legal Assistant Diploma from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years experience working within a family law practice area in a law firm.
  • Solid understanding of Family Law Rules and court filing processes.
  • Hands-on experience working with transactional/complex documents.
  • Document specialist capability, with strong technical skills working within Microsoft Office, Divorcemate and ACL. Familiarity with DMS system is an asset.
  • Solid transcription and proofreading skills.
  • Familiar with developing basic Excel and PowerPoint charts.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner and provide exceptional client service.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with ease.
