Our client, a law firm located in Old Montreal and known for its expertise in civil and commercial litigation as well as class actions, is currently looking for a Legal Assistant. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining the high quality of service provided to clients.
Tasks
- Manage and coordinate the schedules of the lawyers on the team, including appointments, meetings, hearings, trials, and court attendances.
- Proactively oversee case management and ensure compliance with legal deadlines.
- Draft, format, and revise various legal procedures for litigation files.
- Prepare exhibit books, case law compendiums (books of authorities), and trial binders.
- Organize and accurately file both physical and digital documents within case files.
- Provide administrative and technical support to fellow legal assistants, depending on operational needs.
- Perform any other related duties.

Job requirements
- At least 2 years of experience as a legal assistant in litigation.
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures in Quebec.
- DEC or ASP in legal secretarial studies or other relevant, recognized training.
- Bilingual – French and English, to communicate effectively with a primarily English-speaking clientele (approximately 70% of the time).
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
