Job summary

A leading insurance provider is seeking a Legal Assistant to manage case files and ensure regulatory compliance within a hybrid work model. The successful candidate will have a Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Certificate and at least 2 years of experience in insurance law. Strong organizational skills and proficiency in MS Office are essential. This role is located in Cambridge or Toronto, ON.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as an insurance law clerk or legal assistant.
  • Proficiency and knowledge in the Rules of Civil Procedure.

Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings, summaries, affidavits of documents, and correspondence.
  • Assemble case materials and prepare for trials and arbitrations.
  • Communicate with counsel and clients.
  • Schedule litigation events in coordination with opposing counsel.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with case filing and reporting.

What you will do
  • Case File Management – Draft pleadings, summaries, affidavits of documents, status reports and correspondence
  • Assemble case materials, arrange defense medicals, prepare for trials and arbitrations
  • Communicate with counsel and clients
  • Schedule timely litigation events in coordination with opposing counsel
Legal Compliance and Governance
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with case filing and reporting
What you will need to succeed
  • Law clerk or Legal Assistant Certificate
  • 2+ years of experience as an insurance law clerk or legal assistant
  • Proficiency and knowledge in the Rules of Civil Procedure

Location: This is a hybrid work model, location can be either Cambridge, ON or Toronto, ON
