The Role

Neo is looking for an experienced and energetic Legal & Compliance Assistant to join our team in Calgary, AB on a full-time basis. This candidate will have a wide range of responsibilities to help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Neo’s Legal and Risk & Compliance teams. What You'll Be Doing

  • 3-5 years of experience as a legal assistant or other similar role within an in-house legal team or law firm
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Superior time management, and ability to effectively multitask and prioritize daily, weekly and long-term requirements with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated team player who works well under pressure
  • High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly
  • Experience with GRC tools and systems (e.g., Resolver) for monitoring and reporting

Who We Are Looking For

  • Draft and proofread legal documents, correspondence, applications, reports and other documentation
  • Manage routine correspondence with regulators, partners and customers
  • Coordinate document execution and maintain filing and record-keeping, ensuring easy access to files
  • Conduct initial review of third party agreements and non-disclosure agreements
  • Manage corporate filings
  • Manage external legal invoices, including coordinating with internal and external parties
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as formatting and blacklining documents and printing and mailing correspondence
  • Manage diaries to ensure important deadlines are met
  • Produce high quality corporate presentations and complete projects and special assignments
  • Create and maintain effective workflow and communications to assist in achieving corporate objectives
