The Departments of Medicine at St. Michael's Hospital and University of Toronto are seeking a qualified full-time academic neurologist with clinical expertise in multiple sclerosis (MS). The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The position will be at the Clinician Teacher (CT) or Clinician Educator (CE) level. The expected start date is January 2, 2026, with an earlier start possible.
The candidate should hold an MD degree, be eligible for certification in Neurology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). Fellowship training in MS is required, and candidates should have or be working towards a relevant graduate degree or advanced training. Refer to this link for detailed faculty requirements.
This role involves supporting the MS program at St. Michael’s Hospital, supervising fellowship trainees, participating in clinical research and quality improvement, and engaging in educational activities. The division comprises 20 neurologists committed to teaching excellence. Responsibilities include inpatient ward participation, consultation services, and on-call coverage. The candidate reports to the Head of Neurology, with clinic work directed by the MS clinic’s Medical Director.
Remuneration is primarily based on clinical work, with additional opportunities for leadership roles.
