The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Site Administrator, the Lecturer is responsible for participating in curricula and program development that reflect health care trends and for planning, implementing, and evaluating student learning experience in the BScN Program. These activities are to be consistent with the curriculum, values, and strategic plan of the Dalhousie University School of Nursing and Nova Scotia Health. Through education, scholarship, practice and community service, faculty promote the advancement of professional nursing practice.

About You

We would like to hear from you if you have the following:

  1. Registered Nurse with undergraduate nursing degree and a master’s degree, preferably in nursing required
  2. In the absence of the above qualifications, consideration will be given to those who are currently in progress of completing a Master's degree
  3. Current registration (in good standing) with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing required
  4. A minimum of 2 years of current (within the last 24 months) experience in a clinical setting; preferably in Medical-Surgical nursing or Mental Health nursing required
  5. BSCN student clinical teaching experience required
  6. BSCN student classroom and/or clinical lab/simulation teaching experience preferred
  7. HCP-C certification
  8. Joint appointment with Dalhousie University School of Nursing
  9. Leadership skills in teaching and clinical practice
  10. Expert clinical judgement and decision-making
  11. Knowledge of ethical practice/standards in teaching, practice, research, and scholarly work
  12. Knowledge of the principles of adult teaching and learning, active learning strategies, and experience in facilitating learning activities
  13. Demonstrates effective collaborative interpersonal relationships with students and diverse groups in academic, health care and the community settings
  14. Proficient in the use of various computer systems and software required for inter-site collaboration, student placement, teaching and clinical practice settings
  15. Well-developed conceptual, problem-solving, and decision-making skills for effective participation in diverse settings and in teaching and committee work
  16. Uses independent decision-making skills in evaluating and grading students in relation to course objectives in accordance with university academic standards and administrative regulations

Permanent Full-time (75 hours Bi-weekly)

Compensation and Benefits

$49.13 - $65.28 hourly
$95,805 - $127,296 annually
