Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Learning Strategist or supporting children with executive functioning concerns in an educational setting.
• Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team.
• Experience in one-to-one, small group and large group instruction.
• Ability to make independent decisions and take initiative.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Alberta Teaching Certificate would be considered an asset.
• Police information check with a vulnerable sector verification within the last 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the school Principal, Student Services team and Teachers to provide personalized academic support in literacy (reading comprehension, writing, fluency) and numeracy intervention.
• Examine benchmark assessments and term reporting data to assess areas of below grade level achievement and lagging conceptual/skill development.
• Examine student data to strengthen the program, in consultation with administration and Teachers.
• Provide personalized interventions and work with the principal, homeroom Teacher, parents and the student services team to determine a plan to best meet the needs of identified students and help them reach their potential.
• Perform supervision and staff coverage duties when assigned by administration.
