Language of Instruction: Bilingual (French and English)

Branch: Junior School (Grades 2-5)

Start Date: September 2025

About the Position

Reporting to the Executive Director of the Learning Forum and under the supervision of the Junior School Principal, the Learning Specialist supports existing programs and activities, focusing on:

  • Supporting students with learning needs and developing effective learning strategies
  • Providing professional development for teachers on best practices and social-emotional learning
  • Collaborating with faculty to implement differentiated teaching strategies
  • Monitoring student progress and maintaining records
  • Assisting in Learning Support Plan preparations
  • Participating in meetings related to student progress and transitions
  • Communicating with various stakeholders including parents, teachers, and external professionals
  • Delivering learning skills workshops for students
  • Maintaining resources and partnering with learning institutions for professional development
Candidate Profile

We seek candidates who embody TFS values: integrity, discernment, respect, engagement. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Certified teaching qualification (OCT or equivalent) with a degree in education and Special Education
  • Additional qualification in Special Education (highly required)
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Experience with Kindergarten to middle school students with learning needs
  • Training in Literacy, Science of Reading, or Numeracy
  • Experience with assistive technologies and accommodations
  • Knowledge of IB programs (PYP, MYP, DP)
  • Experience in curriculum and staff development
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams
