What you will be doing :
Reporting to the Director, Talent & Culture, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following :
- Partner with department managers to ensure training aligns with operational needs and guest expectations
- Act as a learning ambassador to foster a positive and proactive training culture
- Provide ongoing coaching, support, and development of Departmental Trainers and Leaders to ensure consistent and quality on-the-job training
- Conduct needs analysis in line with LQA, Forbes standards, Mystery shopper, and audit requirements; assess training needs through surveys, interviews, performance evaluations, and consultation with department heads
- Create and conduct innovative bite-sized training as identified; design, implement, and manage comprehensive training programs aligned with hotel goals and brand standards
- Work closely with Departmental Leaders and Senior Managers to develop specific action plans based on observations and colleague engagement feedback
- Create and maintain a property knowledge bank for all department training manuals, SOPs, job task checklists, and onboarding training plans
- Manage the implementation and follow-up of Job Task Checklists to ensure consistent high standards across all departments, aiming for 100% completion
- Monitor operations actively to identify training needs and validate training effectiveness
- Support Talent & Culture team with onboarding facilitation and corporate training programs when required; develop onboarding programs for new hires for smooth integration into the hotel’s service culture
- Ensure all new hire departmental orientations are effectively completed; actively monitor and check in with new hires
- Create and maintain an annual and monthly training calendar
- Maintain accurate records of employee training and certifications
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of previous operational hospitality experience; previous leadership experience is a strong asset
- Proven facilitation skills
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, or Education is an asset
- Experience in hotel operations and service excellence
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications
- Ability to work independently to drive initiatives and cohesively as part of a team
- Highly organized, disciplined, proactive, and innovative
- Experience in creating and executing full-cycle processes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Energetic self-starter who thrives on challenges
