Eminence Organic Skin Care is hiring a Learning and Development Instructional Designer in Vancouver. You will craft interactive learning for Team Members, Spa Partners, and distributors, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of education and documentation.

You will design various formats including eLearnings, videos, and job aids, aligning outcomes with business objectives. Hybrid work requires onsite presence 3 days per week, with a focus on scalable learning

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience as an Instructional Designer developing learning for diverse audiences.
  • Post-secondary education in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, or related field.
  • Experience in Retail or Spa education is an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles for varied learner needs.
  • Advanced Microsoft 365 tools skills (Teams/SharePoint/Office).
  • Experience with eLearning tools such as Articulate.
  • Video creation/editing experience (Premiere Pro).
  • Experience managing LMS content (Docebo preferred).
  • AI for content creation is a plus.
  • Skin care knowledge is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (English + French or Spanish) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Create interactive learning using multiple formats to engage learners.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to map core content and learning outcomes.
  • Design learning hierarchy, flow, and session lengths.
  • Develop eLearns, videos, job aids, and quick guides.
  • Ensure materials are adaptable for different educator styles.
  • Produce high-quality resources (print, presentations, guides, videos).
  • Partner with Creative Services for multimedia assets.
  • Support facilitators by managing chats, polls, and Q&A.
  • Upload/update learning materials on LMS and create Learning Plans.
  • Plan and evaluate learning projects and measure outcomes.
  • Assess learner experience to improve training effectiveness.

Role Summary

As the Learning and Development Instructional Designer, you will be part of a team that creates award winning education to help attract, onboard, retain, and support the growth of Eminence’s Customers. In this role, you will create interactive, engaging and effective learning in various formats for all audiences across Eminence including Team Members, Spa Partners, International and Online Distributors. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure learning materials, documentation, and project milestones are well organized, aligned, and delivered on time. You will be reporting to the Senior Manager of Learning & Development.

Responsibilities
  • Use instructional design best practices to create interactive learning that enhances learner engagement, skill development, and knowledge retention and application
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather and prioritize key content and map core learnings
  • Craft learning outcomes based on learner needs and project scope; design the hierarchy, sequence, and flow of core concepts to support accomplishment of learning objectives
  • Design appropriate delivery methods (e.g., eLearns, videos, job aids, quick reference guides)
  • Design adaptable delivery to allow for a range of educator styles and learner roles, scaffolding levels of knowledge, and alternative session lengths
  • Use course-authoring best practices to produce high-quality resources (e.g., print materials, presentations, facilitator guides, videos, diagrams, infographics) that deliver on established goals
  • Partner with Creative Services on the production of multi-media assets for learning deliverables when appropriate
  • Provide support to facilitators and trainers where necessary by managing the chats, Q&A pods, sharing polls and other interactions to make sure the facilitators and trainers can focus on the delivery of the content and engagement with the audience
  • Upload and update learning materials on Learning Management System (LMS) and create new Learning Plans as needed
  • Use evaluation best practices to plan, implement, and assess evaluation of learning projects, programs and initiatives
  • Measure the success of learning initiatives and projects by evaluating training effectiveness (e.g., learning outcome accomplishment) and learner experience (e.g., satisfaction)
Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience as an Instructional Designer developing various types of learning for different audiences using diverse modalities (onsite, eLearning, blended)
  • Post-secondary education in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, or a related discipline (e.g., PIDP, B.Ed)
  • Experience with education in a Retail and/or Spa environment, preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • Knowledgeable in Adult learning principles and methods and creating learning that engages different adult learners’ need
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in using Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, SharePoint, and Office
  • Experience in using eLearning authoring tool such as Articulate
  • Experience in video creation and editing using tools such as Premier pro
  • Experience in uploading and maintenance of content in an LMS (preferably Docebo)
  • Experience in using AI for content creation is an asset
  • Skin Care Product Knowledge and Esthetics is an asset
  • Bilingualism is an asset (English plus French or Spanish)
