OVERVIEW:

Learning & Organizational Development (L&OD) is a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a focus on collaboration and teamwork. Reporting to the Team Manager of Learning Services, this role will be responsible for delivering training to the Life & Disability Services (LDS) portfolio and will focus on business processes including systems and applications. Creating and maintaining documentation is also a core responsibility. Experience in disability case management is necessary for this role. Skills in areas of adult learning, instructional design, and utilization of technology to create and facilitate virtual training for our stakeholders are key proficiencies for this role.

This is a work from home position that may require occasional on-site work at our Edmonton office.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with your team and our stakeholders via virtual technologies.
  • Work in partnership with your L&OD leadership and the leadership of the LDS portfolio to identify training requirements based on department and company goals and target dates.
  • Apply knowledge of disability case management to the development and maintenance of curricula and other supporting learning materials.
  • Provide engaging virtual facilitation experiences to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Evaluate the impact of training programs to ensure objectives are met.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in written and verbal communication both in and outside of the virtual classroom to communicate ideas and collaborate with stakeholders and various levels of leadership.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Relevant post-secondary degree (e.g., education, adult education, instructional design, or health-related field such as nursing, kinesiology, rehabilitation medicine or social work).
  • Education and/or experience related to disability claims management, including both short-term disability and long-term disability claims.
  • Preference will be given to those with an adult learning certificate from an accredited institution or other relevant post-secondary training and work experience.
  • Knowledge of instructional design models and adult learning principles.
  • Ability to learn business applications from both operational and technical perspectives.
  • Ability to work well independently within a virtual team.
  • Strong research and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
